Misunderstanding
Introduction
Misunderstanding is the cause of many conflicts because it moves people to make the wrong assumptions about people, situations, and things. The mind that has misunderstood causes the person to look suspiciously at others and draw conclusions that are often far-fetched from reality.
Because of reasons like these, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt. I am slow to be judgmental and condemning of people. I tell myself, chances are, I do not have the full story; there is more eyes have not seen, and ears have not heard, so delay judgment.
Someone asked, “Where do you find time to write books?” I weighed the tenor of the question because I knew there was more behind the question, and indeed there was! The preface of the question was formed around a prejudgment the person made about my reason for writing. Prejudice prevented the person benefiting from what I have to offer in books. The person would sit and listen to me speak for an hour or two but begrudge spending $12 for what it took me life-time to learn.
In this short article I give five reasons why I author books, articles, and blogs. Before you forget, join my mailing list Here.
I Have Something to Say
I graduated from the first college attended at age 21 and began pastoring my first congregation at that age. Some people say that was many moons ago. I say, you are right; a dog of my age no pup! Since that time, I have led several congregations, earned a bachelor’s degree, two master’s and one doctorate. And during that same time acquired 27 years of experiential healthcare education, including mental health training. By now, I should have something to say, wouldn’t you say?
In fact, I have more to say than I can write or am willing to write. You cannot go through life trying to put out every fire, or going to fights you were not invited to. In other words, I do not go out of my way the bother the devil. He has a job to do, I have mine. So, if you have content that will benefit people, find the right medium and share it. Speaking and authoring books are two ways that I have found.
My Mission Demands It
What is your mission in life? Your mission is your true purpose for being. Sadly, many people have gone through life without a mission or knowing what is their true purpose for living. Some have made a name for themselves and have amassed a lot of money, but they are miserable, empty, and unfulfilled. Worst of all, they are staring at an end of life that will land them in a hot place.
My mission in life is to make disciples for Yeshua (Jesus). I am very blessed to have been given this assignment incredibly early in life. I am in the business of registering people for heaven, that way I save them from the hot place. I have much to say on this subject. I know what is going to have on Planet earth to the end of time and beyond. I have authored a 10-volume series on this subject on “Related Events to the Second Coming of the Christ.” Wise people seek to learn what these are and position themselves for what is coming.
You cannot afford not to know what is coming. You can see the dark clouds on the horizon, and you can hear the galloping hooves of the four horsemen of the apocalypse advancing toward us. I write to encourage and help people find the right way. I write as prophetic warning.
I Write to Maximize My Impact
Do you know the people who have made the greatest impact on human life were authors? Now of all the books that have been written, which one has the greatest impact on humans, and have sold the most copies? If you say, the Bible, you are right. God Himself is an author. He first penned the Ten Commandments on two tables of stone and gave them to Moses on Mt. Sinai (Exodus 32-34).
Moses broke them to pieces as soon as he got down from the mountain and found his people worshipping the golden calf. He had to hew two new tables and return to God on the mountain.
Did you know God gave Moses more than the Ten Commandments? God downloaded into Moses enough content to fill five books. Moses was an author; he wrote the first five books of the Hebrew and Christian Bible (the Torah). He gave them to his successor (Joshua 1:8).
Now, Yeshua (Jesus) did not personally author any book, but Moses and all the prophets of the Hebrew Bibel (our Old Testament) wrote about Jesus, and the entire New Testament is about Jesus. Of the twenty-seven books comprising the New Testament, 13, if not fourteen were written by the Great Apostle Paul. If you credit Paul with the book of Hebrews, then he would have written fourteen. He was an author. The apostles Peter, John, and Matthew were all authors.
I Write to Expand my Reach.
Did you know when the printing press with movable type was invented? About 1440 by Johannes Guttenberg in in Germany; the first book to be printed was the Bible, the Guttenberg Bible about 1455. And it happened at the right time, the beginning of the Protestant Reformation.
The Roman Catholic Church had kept the Bible from the people at that time. Attempts to translate the Bible would put the life of the translator at risk. While Martin Luther, the leader of the Reformation was in hiding, he translated the Bible in the language of the German people. And the printing press was just in time to make it available in wide currency to a spiritually hungry people.
The printed page has greatly extended the reach of the gospel message of the individual preacher as well as the corporate body of the church. Of course, today we have all forms of media platforms, and we should use them all to extend our reach. Jesus said, “This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached as a witness to all the world, then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).
I Write to Leave a Legacy
We should all leave something to mark that we were here. Plant a tree or something! I want to leave something that will continue to minister when I am gone, something to point the way to the lonely traveler. A few good books will do it. Join me doing that.
When you acquire these important books, you not only helping to enrich your own spiritual life, but you also partner with me in getting the gospel out to help others.
So, I am asking you to do a few things: add the 10-volume series to your reading list, one volume at a time. After you have read it share it with a friend. Then write a customer review on Amazon, it helps. Finally, join my mailing list for updates, new publications, and free giveaways. Click here to join.
