The End of the Age
By Michael Dewar
“World without end, Amen!” What does it mean?
Do you remember as a child singing in church what is now known as the Gloria Patri? “Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen!
Churches hardly say, “Holy Ghost” anymore; it is Holy Spirit. But what about, “world without end,” and “Amen?” Well, amen, means “so let it be.” It is used as an affirmation of truth. If you agree that a statement is true, you give the affirmation of, amen! It should not be used thoughtlessly!
But what about “world without end?” This is an idiom that means “forever” and is not meant to be taken literally. It is a carryover from the Latin, “saecula saeculorum” which means “ages of ages” or forever). The Bible refers of blocks or periods of time as ages: the present age, ages past, and the age to come. There is the classic hymn by Isaac Watts (1719), “O God our help in ages past, our hope for years to come.” We like to sing it on New Year’s Sunday.
Biblically speaking, we are presently in the church age. The Church Age began on the Day of Pentecost, the birthday of the Church (Acts 2:1-8). The Church Age is the beginning of the last days (Acts 2:14-21). The last days, proper, began with the Resurrection of Jesus; Jesus is the resurrection and the life (John 11:21-27 ). Jesus is the firstfruits from among the dead (1Corinthians 15:20-22). The Resurrection of Jesus and Pentecost happened two thousand years ago. That means, we are in the last of the last days. The time is urgent!
The Present Age which is the Church Age will end with the Rapture of the Church, the people of God. This Rapture event is imminent; it can happen anytime. This is why it is important to be properly informed about it so that you can plan your life wisely. Bible scholars call the age to come, Kingdom Age. It includes major events all captured in the ten-book series, Related Events to the Second Coming of the Christ.
I have been preparing people for what is coming. But most people are stressed out and preoccupied with making a living, so they lose sight of what is about to happen. You see war ships converging in the Middle East as if America is being unwillingly pulled into what could be World War III. Most people cannot connect the dots until it is too late. There is nowhere to run or hide in a nuclear exchange. Be in the know, add these ten volumes to your reading list now.
Knowledge is power. Here are the tools to help you plan wisely for the age that is about to dawn.
